City of Solana Beach  » CITY GOVERNMENT  » Public Safety  » Fire Prevention

To be effective fighting fires in today's quickly changing environment, a prevention program must include practical measures aimed at increasing knowledge and understanding in our homes, businesses and workplaces. This mindset is woven into the fabric of emergency calls, and incorporated into the daily routines of firefighters. Prevention activities coupled with aggressive firefighting techniques, training and education can continue to reduce preventable fire losses and injury to the citizens and visitors of our community.

The Solana Beach Fire Department recognizes and enforces applicable portions of the Uniform Fire Code, Uniform Building Code, Life Safety Code, and other fire safety related codes and ordinances. Firefighters conduct business inspections, multi-family residential inspections and preplanned inspections of commercial buildings. The department also oversees the safety portions of new development, redevelopment, and hazardous materials use, storage and disposal.
