Solana Beach Clean and Green Committee
The Solana Beach Clean and Green Committee is comprised of local residents and owners working to help preserve Solana Beach's environment. The City Council has recently formed a Council Ad-Hoc subcommittee on Environmental Sustainability to work closely with the Clean and Green committee and provide direction to City staff on sustainability programs.

- The Great Pacific Garbage Patch Presentation - Six Solana Beach organizations and the City of Solana Beach jointly sponsored a lecture about "The Great Pacific Garbage Patch" by Captain Charles Moore. Sponsoring organizations included the Solana Beach Civic and Historical Society, the Friends of the Solana Beach Library, the Solana Beach Surfing Association, the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy, the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church and the San Diego Chapter of the Sierra Club, attended by 350 people on March 2, 2010.
