The City of Solana Beach and the Belly Up Tavern are proud to announce the return of summer “Concerts at the Cove” series. Concerts at the Cove will bring musicians to the Fletcher Cove Park stage in performances designed for audiences of all ages.

The concert series emphasizes family recreation and cultural experiences in a relaxed outdoor setting by the beach, and provides an opportunity for families and friends to enjoy a variety of musical styles at sunset. Concerts will be held every Thursday night throughout the summer.

The public is encouraged to bring low-back beach chairs, ground cover and picnics. No alcohol; tobacco; pets during concerts; or personal BBQ’s are allowed. This event is free and open to the public.

The Fiesta del Sol is an annual family and community event featuring stellar live music, an arts & crafts fair, children's activities, an international food court, and a beer & wine garden.  The 33rd annual Fiesta del Sol is a free event scheduled for June 2 and 3, 2012, and takes place at Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach.

City of Encinitas & City of Solana Beach
Shoreline Protection Project

The City of Encinitas and the City of Solana Beach will prepare a joint Environmental Impact Report and Environmental Impact Statement with the United States Army Corps of Engineers to assess shoreline protection options and potential effects along the coastlines of these two cities. The purpose of the EIR/EIS is to evaluate options for reducing beach and shoreline erosion over a 50-year period from 2015 through 2065.

Councilmembers Salaries

  • $8,550 annually
  • $8,580 flex benefits

Various councilmembers serve on regional boards in addition to their responsibilities as a councilmember for the City of Solana Beach. Some regional boards pay up to $160 per monthly meeting/if attended. Not all councilmembers participate on these regional boards and thus do not receive any compensation from those respective boards.
